This is Spencer's first year doing "real" baseball. By real, I mean kids pitch, they had a draft, they keep score, it consumes his life, etc. He has LOVED it! We were fortunate to get on the Phillies with a few kids from the neighborhood and with our favorite coach (he has also been Spencer's football coach for several years in a row). Spencer has mostly played 1st base but also 3rd and outfield. He decided that he wanted to learn to pitch this year and has been able to pitch a few innings--which is super nerve wracking as a parent to watch. He has done a great job. His first time pitching he caught a direct hit from the batter which surprised him but also got him the game ball.
