All of the kids had a great year in school. Addie finished her 1st year of preschool and had 2 FABULOUS teachers!! Addie is a spicy little 4 year old and they did a great job with her. This year she learned how to write her name all on her own and really thrived with the musical curriculum. We can't wait to see them again in the fall (and next week at summer camp!).
Kennedy finished 4th grade and is headed (sniff sniff) to 5th grade next year!! Her teacher Mrs. Conley was so great and Kennedy made some really good friends this year--she is excited that we are actually coming back to the same school next year!! For a kid who has been at 3 different elementary schools since Kindergarten, it's a pretty big deal! Math is her favorite subject and she is always giving us math quizzes. She brought home a straight A report card--it really has been a great year!! I am thrilled 6th grade is still in the elementary school--2 more years at the same school. I don't think I am ready for her last year of elementary school just yet!
Spencer LOVED LOVED LOVED his teacher Ms. Alius. And I have to agree. She was so willing to work with him and made a special effort to find things to keep him busy. At the end of the year he tested on a 5th grade level for both math and reading, and she found ways to challenge him while still allowing him to enjoy the fun of 1st grade. He was also a completely different kid at school. She constantly asked me if he was always quiet. For a while I was wondering if we were talking about the same kid! He loves to read and has really gotten into Harry Potter this year. He just finished Book 5.
There school had a dance festival the last week and they both did great!
