After 4 ear infections in 4 months, we decided Benson needed tubes in his ears. We are also hoping this process will help his speech. He was a month shy of 2 when he got them, and only had a vocabulary of about 7 semi-comprehendible words. It's been frustrating for all of us. He wants to communicate so bad, and because he can't, there are a lot of tantrums at our house. The process was so fast--so fast that Chris was supposed to come and meet me and we were in the car driving home before he even had a chance to get the other kids off to school. We were lucky too--one of our fabulous neighbors was Benson's nurse.
A month later he hasn't really added much to his vocabulary other than the word "mine", but he is so much happier. And I really don't think anyone could possibly look as cute as he did in his hospital jammies!
