The Saga of House Hunting in AL

Okay, so here is the saga of our AL house hunt. We had bought a plane ticket for Chris to fly out to AL before Addie was born. Even though she was born early, we decided to go ahead and have Chris come out. So anyways, we bought House 1 so that we would have a place to move in right when we got here. We had the inspection, and discovered the floors were slanted, the foundation was cracked, and there were 13 other pages of things that other people with more time and ambitious could fix, but not us, so we backed out and decided we would rent a place for a little while and then look together.

We found house 2 (our very favorite) and we put a bid on it. We thought it was ours, and then we got outbid at the last minute. What a bummer!! It was seriously the cutest house!

So then we put a bid on house 3. We did not really love this house (well actually, Chris really liked it, it was not my favorite), but we seriously looked at more than 30 houses (and there is A LOT of less than exciting stuff on the market), and thought this would be our next best option even though we would have to do some serious work on the backyard to make it kid friendy--it has a river in the back!! But anyways, the owners couldn't knock enough off of the price for us.

After not so much success, we were sure missing our cute little AZ house, but then we found House 4. It needs a little personalization, but we think it will work for the next 3 years. I have been somewhat pessimistic about it though, after our whole experience with the other 3 houses! But everything sounds like it's a go, and we are supposed to be able to move in at the end of the month!! We are so excited to get back into a house! Our kids so need a backyard again! So anyways, that is the Foster house saga. Thought you might enjoy!

Cute house(s)! From the outside, house #2 looks like it would have been a lot of fun....bummer that you didn't get it. When we moved this last time, it took several offers on other houses before we got this one, and looking back we're so glad things worked out the way they did. Be sure to take pics as you put your personal touch on things so you can share with us!!
